Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Ritchie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ritchie misses with a series of wild punches.
Ford avoids the head kick by Ritchie.
Ford misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ritchie.
Ford stuffs the takedown attempt from Ritchie. Ritchie gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Ford misses the target.
Ritchie looks to land a body kick but Ford moved away.
Ford takes a swing at Ritchie's ribcage but misses.
Ford moves out of range of the leg kick from Ritchie.
Ford misses with a body punch
and Ford takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ritchie using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ford has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Ford manages to break the clinch.
Ford lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Ritchie tries to clinch up.
A swing and a miss from Ford.
Ritchie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ford defends well and Ritchie ends up having to push Ford into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ritchie is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ford is defending well.

Ford ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ritchie moves away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ford lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ritchie or not.
Ford's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Ford tries to pull guard but Ritchie forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Ford's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ritchie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ford ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ford is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ritchie rather than just go for the knockout.

Ford fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ritchie manages to avoid it.
Ford connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ritchie. Ritchie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Ford counters by moving into the clinch.

Ford ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ford no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Ford wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ritchie slips a straight right by Ford.
Ritchie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ford's waist but Ford gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ritchie off to one side.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ritchie. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Ritchie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ford avoids it really well and circles away.
Ritchie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ford.

Ford breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ritchie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ford defends it nicely.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ford scores with a shot to the body.

Ford closes the distance and clinches.

Ford manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ford has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ritchie has passed into side control.
Ford wants to get back to his feet.

Ritchie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ford, who protects the arm well.
Ford is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ritchie asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Ritchie decides to stand back up. Ritchie steps back and let's Ford get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

so Ritchie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ford is wriggling around but Ritchie manages to pass to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Albert Ford will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Ford tries to kick Ritchie off in order to stand up. Ritchie Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

The strikes coming from Ritchie are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Ritchie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ritchie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ford bucks up and tries to throw Ritchie off but instead Ritchie has got his back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ritchie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nathan Ritchie.
I think Ford has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
