PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Laks Damn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohamed Ahmed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Laks Damn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mohamed Ahmed!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ahmed drives through with a takedown into Damn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Ahmed trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ahmed won't allow Damn to get back to his feet.

Ahmed decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Damn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ahmed.
Ahmed shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Damn pinned against the cage. Damn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Damn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Ahmed counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Damn struggling a bit here.
Ahmed trying to control the action but Damn is working from the bottom.
Damn is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Damn is not content to let Ahmed control the position.
Damn regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ahmed's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Ahmed wants to control but Damn is keeping him busy.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Damn wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Damn wants to control but Ahmed is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ahmed trying to control the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mohamed Ahmed was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Damn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ahmed sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Laks Damn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Damn checks the leg kick nicely there.
Ahmed throws a head kick but Damn moves out of range.
Damn throws a big shot that misses.
Damn throws a shot from downtown. Ahmed moves away and avoids it.
Damn misses with a two punch combination.
Ahmed ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Damn looks to throw the jab but Ahmed is out of range.
Damn lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Mohamed Ahmed has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Damn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ahmed holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ahmed tries to pull guard but Damn holds him up against the cage and eventually Ahmed drops back down to his feet.

Ahmed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Damn lands a nice shot that snaps Ahmed's head back.
A combination from Ahmed does no damage.
Damn looks to land a combination but Ahmed avoids it well.
Ahmed tries to clinch up.
Ahmed fails to land the takedown.
Laks Damn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohamed Ahmed.
Ahmed moves out of range as Damn strikes.

Ahmed takes the fight into the clinch.

Damn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Damn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Damn misses with a series of wild punches.
Damn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ahmed was well out of range. Poor timing from Damn.
Damn throws a hook to the side of Ahmed's head but Ahmed sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Damn digs a good hook to Ahmed's body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ahmed throws a sloppy head kick and Damn moves out of range easily.
Ahmed keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Ahmed uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Damn.
Damn misses with the combination.
Ahmed slips under a jab.
A jab from Damn finds it's way through Ahmed's defenses.
Ahmed takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ahmed looks winded!
Damn throws a jab when Ahmed was well out of range.
Damn fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Damn thuds his right hand into Ahmed's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ahmed looks up at the clock. Bad move! Damn lands a right hand from hell, dropping Ahmed. Damn pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Laks Damn!
Laks Damn gave a mention to Damnfield clothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
