Melendez comes to the cage accompanied by Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade. Barca has chosen Otherwise- Soldiers as his entrance music. Ricky Melendez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez lands a slapping body shot.

Melendez closes the distance and pushes Barca back into the cage.

Barca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Barca tries to sprawl but Melendez drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
It looks like Melendez is going to stand back up.
Barca tries to roll over but Melendez keeps him under control.
Melendez tries to stand and escape but Barca is controlling the position.
Barca is trying to maintain the position but Melendez is very close to passing his half guard.
Barca is looking to improve his position.
Melendez is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Melendez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Melendez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barca quickly recovers to half guard.

It looks like Melendez is going to stand back up.

Melendez escapes and gets back to his feet.
Melendez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Barca keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Melendez is breathing heavily.
Barca misses with a low kick.
Ricky Melendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Melendez.

Barca shoots in and bounces Melendez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Melendez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Barca presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Barca is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Melendez kicks off Barca and gets to his feet.

Barca gets caught napping as Melendez dives in and scores a takedown. Barca manages to retain guard.

Melendez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Barca closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Melendez did well to prevent Barca getting side control.
Barca stalling.

Barca looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Melendez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Melendez is looking to escape.
Barca trying to control the action but Melendez is working from the bottom.
Barca lands with a punch from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barca stops Melendez from getting back to his feet.
