Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nestor Rei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dylan Stewart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nestor Rei!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rei gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stewart to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rei is trying to control the position but Stewart postures up.
Rei is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Stewart postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rei is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stewart, into his guard.

Rei must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stewart looking for a guillotine here but Rei defends easily.
Stewart could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Stewart might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nestor Rei was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Stewart fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rei to the ground. Stewart is now in Rei's guard.
Stewart won't allow Rei to sweep him here.
Stewart throws an elbow that misses. Rei uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stewart's guard. Nice move by Rei!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stewart has his hands on Rei's head, controlling the position.
Rei passes into half guard.
Rei wants to free his trapped foot but Stewart is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Stewart wants to improve his position but Rei is controlling well.
Rei keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Stewart is looking to improve his position.
Rei looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Stewart is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rei's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rei's back!

Stewart has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Rei has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
I really don't envy Rei right now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rei tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dylan Stewart will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Rei closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stewart to the mat! Stewart manages to get full guard.

Stewart escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rei gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rei wants to control from the top but Stewart keeps moving.
Rei wants to pass the guard but Stewart is keeping the position.
Rei seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nestor Rei hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Rei closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stewart quickly recovers to half guard.
Rei trying to control the action but Stewart is working from the bottom.
Stewart wants to get back to full guard.
Rei not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Stewart is looking for a sweep. Rei is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rei tries to pass to full mount but Stewart defends it.
Stewart moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Rei throws a big right hand that misses.

Rei chips away with some ground and pound.
Rei won't allow Stewart to sweep him here.

Rei got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stewart has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rei has managed to get both his arms back between Stewart's legs - danger averted.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rei is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Stewart closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rei looking for a takedown.
Rei goes for a takedown in the clinch but Stewart prevents it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rei has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stewart is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dylan Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nestor Rei.
Rei is breathing heavily.

Stewart has hold of one of Rei's legs. Rei is fighting the takedown attempt but Stewart gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rei can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stewart is looking to stand up but Rei won't let him.
Stewart throws a strike but Rei rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Nestor Rei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


No luck for Rei with that takedown attempt.

Stewart has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rei is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stewart.

Rei tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Nestor Rei has got the better of the ground game so far.

Rei creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Rei advances to full mount.
Stewart bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Rei manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stewart manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rei takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stewart is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Stewart wants to stand but Rei has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Stewart decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rei, up you get!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stewart ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rei moves away.
Rei shoots in looking for a takedown but Stewart manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rei's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nestor Rei.
I think Rei has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
