Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micah Sellers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lou Griffin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Micah Sellers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Micah Sellers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lou Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin connects with an inside leg kick.
Griffin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Griffin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Griffin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Griffin thumps Sellers with a low kick.
Sellers on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Sellers takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Griffin throws a nice looking combination but Sellers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A nice inside leg kick there by Griffin. That's going to slow Sellers down.
Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Griffin looks to land a combination but Sellers avoids it well.

Griffin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sellers circles away quickly and effectively.
Sellers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Griffin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Griffin wants it to stay on the feet.

Sellers tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Griffin defends well and Sellers ends up having to push Griffin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Sellers has clasped his hands together around Griffin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sellers scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Griffin to see if he's OK.

Sellers cracks Griffin with a big right hand but Griffin just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's time! Sellers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Griffin stuffs the takedown attempt from Sellers. Sellers gets slowly back to his feet.
Lou Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Griffin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sellers circles away quickly and effectively.
Sloppy strikes from Griffin. Those never looked like landing.

Sellers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Griffin avoids it really well and circles away.

Griffin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Sellers holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Griffin is breathing heavily.

Sellers pulls guard effortlessly.
Sellers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Griffin pushes Sellers off looking to stand but Sellers dives back in and keeps control.

Sellers is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Griffin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Griffin wants to get back to his feet.
Sellers looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Sellers is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Griffin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sellers.
Sellers is keen to just control but Griffin is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin wants to get back to his feet.

Griffin throws out a leg kick but Sellers moves out of range and Griffin only half commits.
Griffin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sellers backs up against the cage.

Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Griffin throws a right hand that Sellers ducks under and follows up with a left that Sellers also avoids with ease.

Griffin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sellers controls the pace.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sellers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Griffin for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close second round but I would say that Micah Sellers will probably get the nod.

Micah Sellers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Griffin wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Griffin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sellers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Griffin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Sellers goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Griffin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sellers's guard! Nice work there by Griffin!
Sellers wants to get back to his feet but Griffin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Micah Sellers wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Griffin lands a jab-cross combination.
Griffin moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sellers keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Griffin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sellers's head.
Lou Griffin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Griffin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Griffin misses with a wild combination.

Griffin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Micah Sellers.
I think Sellers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
