The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here.
Johnson gets to mount! Fulton was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Johnson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Fulton manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Fulton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Johnson wants to stand but Fulton has his arm trapped.
Fulton trying to remain calm as Johnson controls from the top position.
Johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Fulton wants to control but Johnson postures up.
Fulton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
Johnson works to advance to full mount. Fulton defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fulton is looking to escape.
Johnson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fulton looks a forlorn figure.

Johnson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fulton sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
It looks like Johnson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fulton is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Fulton is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Fulton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Johnson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Johnson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Johnson is pushing down on Fulton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fulton is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Johnson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Johnson postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Fulton in real trouble here! The ref calls for Fulton to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
