Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Guy Cochrane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rekis!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rekis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cochrane.
Cochrane tries to bum rush Rekis with a series of wild strikes but Rekis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cochrane throws a jab when Rekis was well out of range.
Cochrane throws a right hand that misses

and Rekis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cochrane won't be happy with that.

Rekis connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cochrane some visible discomfort.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rekis lands a few punches from side control.

Rekis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cochrane knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rekis is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cochrane can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rekis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cochrane is looking to escape.

Rekis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Cochrane on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cochrane tries to get out of the position.
Cochrane wants to control but Rekis is having none of it.
Rekis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
