PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Josiah Mcintyre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sarawut Suttikul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Josiah Mcintyre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sarawut Suttikul!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suttikul darts in and clinches Mcintyre up against the cage.
Mcintyre tries to break free but Suttikul pushes him back against the cage.

Suttikul ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Suttikul no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Suttikul is working an open guard so Mcintyre takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Suttikul throws a head kick but Mcintyre moves out of range.
Suttikul pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Suttikul with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Suttikul throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Mcintyre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Suttikul's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mcintyre blocks a head kick by Suttikul.
Good leg kick by Suttikul there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Suttikul stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Suttikul wants it to stay on the feet.

Suttikul takes the fight into the clinch.
Suttikul prevents Mcintyre from breaking the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Suttikul breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sarawut Suttikul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suttikul fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mcintyre.
Suttikul explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Mcintyre gets caught flat footed, as Suttikul shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Suttikul tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcintyre is retaining full guard.
Mcintyre looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Suttikul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcintyre swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Suttikul wants to get up but he can't break Mcintyre's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Mcintyre is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Suttikul looks like he's trying to stand up.
Suttikul flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Well, if Mcintyre is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mcintyre seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Suttikul for as long as he can get away with.
Mcintyre will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
