The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kallio closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gay lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Kallio gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gay.

Gay has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kallio clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kallio trying to control the action but Gay just sinks the hooks in.
Kallio rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Gay wants to get back to his feet.

Gay is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kallio has managed to free his arm - good work.

Gay is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Kallio manages to get to full guard.
Gay seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gay drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kallio dives on top into guard.

Kallio stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Kallio would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gay.

and Kallio counters with a head kick. That will keep Gay thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
