The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velka lands with a straight right. Heggs didn't see that one coming.
Heggs is looking to clinch but Velka is avoiding it.
Velka misses with a left hand

and Heggs counters with a head kick that drops Velka to the mat! Velka scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velka will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Heggs has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Warehouse in the buildup to the fight.
Heggs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Velka lands with a nice body punch.
Velka throws a head kick but Heggs moves out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Velka, right into the meat.
Velka has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Velka lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Velka tries to clinch but Heggs moves out of range.
Heggs bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Velka fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Velka rushes Heggs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Heggs throws a head punch that misses.
Velka makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Velka pushes Heggs back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Velka is trying to stall.
Heggs is working Velka over against the cage.
Heggs lands a hook to the side of the head.
Heggs on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Heggs takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Velka is still on wobbly legs! Can Heggs finish him?

Heggs throws a big uppercut that drops Velka! More strikes from Heggs and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Velka lies dazed against the cage as Heggs celebrates with his cornermen!
