Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Diotte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diotte has chosen Cypress Hill - I Want 2 Get High as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Junior Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Diotte!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Diotte has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Diotte cracks Silva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Diotte shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Diotte defends well and Silva ends up having to push Diotte into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Diotte shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Silva gets through Diotte's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Diotte breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Diotte, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Diotte against the cage but Diotte circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Diotte tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diotte manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Diotte throws a jab when Silva was well out of range.

Silva closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Diotte's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Diotte is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well.

Silva wants to control from the top but Diotte keeps moving.
Silva won't allow Diotte to get back to his feet.
Silva scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Diotte has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Diotte is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva wants to control from the top but Diotte keeps moving.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Junior Silva just wasn't active enough.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Andrew Diotte is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diotte looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Diotte knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Diotte wants to get back to his feet but Silva drags him back down.
Diotte is trying to improve his position.
Diotte gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Diotte keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Silva goes for a double leg but Diotte avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Diotte continues to drive forward.

Silva walks into a straight right hand from Diotte.
Diotte fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Diotte feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Silva sprawling to the canvas! Silva rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Diotte finish him?!

After the fight, Andrew Diotte was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
