Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlo English (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hastings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

English tries to sprawl but Hastings drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hastings throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hastings stops English from getting back to his feet.
Hastings keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mike Hastings.
English shoots in looking for a takedown. Hastings tries to sprawl out of it but English keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hastings manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hastings drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but English manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hastings has English in his guard.

English tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hastings paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hastings shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hastings was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hastings is staying tight to English's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Hastings is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but English is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

English closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hastings circles away.

Hastings has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
