The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Schroeder shoots in and bounces Ferreira off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Schroeder is looking to stand up but Ferreira won't let him.
Ferreira avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schroeder throws an elbow that misses. Ferreira uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Schroeder's guard. Nice move by Ferreira!

Heytor Ferreira has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Schroeder is looking to clinch.

Schroeder decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Schroeder seems to be working for a kimura but Ferreira defends the submission attempt.

Ferreira manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Schroeder manages to get himself to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Heytor Ferreira wasn't active enough on the ground.

Schroeder shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ferreira's guard.
Ferreira wants to sweep but no luck.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ferreira enables Schroeder to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ferreira manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Schroeder is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ferreira has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Schroeder is looking to defend but Ferreira has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Schroeder! Ferreira pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Schroeder taps out and this one is all over!
