Cornell has chosen Voodoo, Godsmack as his entrance music. Kurt Cornell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Cornell!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skeeta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cornell manages to avoid it.

Skeeta manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cornell on his heels. He'll look to pass Cornell's guard now, I'm sure.
Skeeta throws a strike but Cornell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cornell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Skeeta wants to sweep here but Cornell controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cornell passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Skeeta is trying to buck Cornell off.
Skeeta stops Cornell from passing to mount.
Skeeta gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cornell moves to the back.

Cornell is cranking Skeeta's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Skeeta! He's tightened the choke and Skeeta is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kurt Cornell!
Kurt Cornell decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
