Davenport is looking to clinch but Bernier is avoiding it.
Bernier misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bernier shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Davenport tries to kick Bernier off but Bernier keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Davenport wants to clinch up but Bernier keeps it at a distance.

Bernier fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Davenport, pushing him back against the cage.

Bernier bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davenport's guard.
Bernier slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Davenport is working an open guard so Bernier takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Davenport gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bernier to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bernier is pushing down on Davenport's leg trying to pass to half guard. Davenport is fighting to maintain full guard but Bernier has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bernier is looking for a kimura but Davenport is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bernier to get the leverage.

Bernier stands up and beckons Davenport to join him on the feet.

Bernier shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Davenport is trying to defend but Bernier finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bernier remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
