Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karlos Tom and Mariano Trias. Trias is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by misteryo by slapshock. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 wins, 1 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of London, Karlos Tom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 wins, 4 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Tokyo, Mariano Trias!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trias looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Tom drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Trias trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Tom wants to control from the top but Trias keeps moving.

Trias escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tom sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Trias's guard.

Trias tries to roll over but Tom keeps him under control.
Tom tries to pass the half guard into mount. Trias knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Trias wants to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tom takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Tom has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Trias is looking for a sweep. Tom is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tom controlling the pace.

Tom is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Trias defends it well.
Trias is looking to improve his position.
Tom drops an elbow to the side of Trias's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tom thows a huge punch but Trias dodges it nicely.

Trias makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trias.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Trias is on top in guard.

Trias must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tom utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Trias working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tom's head.
Trias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tom swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mariano Trias will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Tom changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Trias looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Trias tries to escape but Tom is in control.
Trias tries to buck Tom off but Tom is having none of it.

Tom wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Trias, who protects the arm well.

Trias tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Trias bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Trias closes the distance and clinches.

Trias escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Trias lands a high kick!

It looks like Karlos Tom has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Trias throws a head kick but Tom moves out of range.

Tom gets a takedown into half guard.
Trias moves into full guard.
Trias is breathing heavily.

Trias wants to sweep but no luck.
Tom trying to control but Trias is working from the bottom.
Tom is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Trias wants to sweep here but Tom controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Tom chips away with some ground and pound.
Tom is in close to Trias's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Tom wants to control from the top but Trias keeps moving.
Karlos Tom overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Trias is working an open guard so Tom takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mariano Trias seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tom fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Trias sprawls well initially but Tom persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Tom in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Trias tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Tom!
