Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Modesto Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, mr Ben!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpenter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ben moves away.
Ben throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ben scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Ben cracks Carpenter with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ben tries to land a body kick
and Carpenter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ben misses with a few strikes there.
Ben moves into the clinch.
Carpenter content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Carpenter for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Carpenter blocks the elbow strike.

Carpenter wants to work for an arm triangle but Ben is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Carpenter tries to break the clinch but Ben is controlling the position.

Ben has closed the distance and engaged Carpenter in a clinch.
Carpenter jumps guard but Ben stands there with Carpenter around his waist. Carpenter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Carpenter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ben changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carpenter tries to avoid it but Ben manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carpenter to the ground. Carpenter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ben misses with an attempted mid kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ben escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ben shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ben accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carpenter wants to stand up but Ben is controlling him.
Ben postures up in Carpenter's guard and throws a big left but Carpenter blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ben throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ben scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ben closes the distance and clinches.
Ben is trying to break free.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ben.
Carpenter tries to pull guard but Ben holds him up against the cage and eventually Carpenter drops back down to his feet.
Ben tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Ben lands a nice shot to the body.
Carpenter is trying to break the clinch but Ben is controlling him.
Ben jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carpenter walks away with a smile on his face. Ben gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Carpenter throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ben misses with a kick to the body.
Ben throws a quick inside leg kick.
Ben falls off balance throwing a combination
and Carpenter counters by moving into the clinch.

Carpenter drags the fight down to the ground.
Carpenter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ben on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Carpenter wants to stand and escape but Ben is having none of it.

Ben drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carpenter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ben has Carpenter in his guard.

Carpenter wants to stand and escape but instead Ben has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Ben drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ben jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ben is nestled in close to Carpenter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ben bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ben scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Carpenter is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Ben can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
