Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leo Villa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tom Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Villa looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Hammer throws his legs up looking for a submission but Villa uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammer is looking to reverse the position.
The referee asks Villa politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Villa prefers to stall for the moment though.

Villa wants to stand up but Hammer has a hold of him and won't allow it.

That was a close round but I would say that Leo Villa will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hammer swats away the attempt to clinch by Villa.
Villa goes for a double leg but Hammer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hammer continues to drive forward.
Villa keeps control of Hammer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Villa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hammer walks away with a smile on his face. Villa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Villa is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hammer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Villa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hammer somewhat.

Hammer shoots in looking for a takedown. Villa tries to sprawl out of it but Hammer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Villa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hammer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Villa as he avoids it easily.
Leo Villa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hammer shoots for a double leg takedown but Villa sprawls well. He's pushed Hammer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hammer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Villa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Villa and Hammer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Hammer is looking to take a break and control but Villa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tom Hammer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Leo Villa.
Well Villa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
