Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Nicklaus!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing reports that Espinoza has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Nicklaus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Espinoza takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Nicklaus tries to bum rush Espinoza with a series of wild strikes but Espinoza uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nicklaus is on top in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Claudio Espinoza just wasn't active enough.
Nicklaus throws a head kick but Espinoza moves out of range.
Espinoza throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Nicklaus on the side of the head.
Espinoza throws a leg kick which misses Nicklaus's front leg but catches the back leg as Nicklaus tries to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nicklaus. Espinoza does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nicklaus will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nicklaus is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Espinoza rather than just go for the knockout.
Espinoza ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Nicklaus gets caught flat footed, as Espinoza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nicklaus is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Espinoza is trying to control the action in half guard but Nicklaus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Nicklaus parries the strikes from Espinoza easily there. Espinoza is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nicklaus to escape.

Espinoza thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You can see the frustration on Nicklaus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Nicklaus sneaks back into half guard.
Nicklaus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nicklaus wants to control but Espinoza is keeping busy and won't allow it.
