The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roads just misses with a punch to the body.
Roads misses with an uppercut
and Machida counters with a nice uppercut.
Roads throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Roads swings for the body but Machida moves out of range.
Machida goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Machida throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Roads misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Roads throws a right and a left that Machida avoids nicely.
Good standup being displayed there by Roads as he connects with a hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Roads scores with a body shot.
Machida takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Roads looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Machida uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Roads.
Roads takes a swing at Machida's ribcage but misses.

A decent looking cross lands there for Roads.
Roads fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Machida on the side of the head.

Roads lands with a nice body punch.

Roads throws out a loose jab but Machida uses good head movement to avoid it.
Roads throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Machida on the side of the head.
Oh Machida is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roads throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Machida counters with a head kick.
Machida seems to have got his legs back now.
Roads throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roads misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Machida.
Roads rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Machida moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Machida keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Roads.
Roads drops Machida with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Machida looks back up at him and smiles so Roads waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Roads throws a body shot but no joy.
Roads misses with a body shot.
Machida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
BOOM! Roads lands a beautiful left hook that drops Machida. Machida tries to recover but Roads is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Machida lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
