The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcfarland dives in and grabs Greene's left leg, looking for a takedown. Greene pushes down on Mcfarland's head and hops out.
Mcfarland shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Greene but Greene pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mcfarland shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Greene defends it nicely.

Greene misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Greene throws a push kick but Mcfarland slaps the foot to one side.

Mcfarland shoots in for a takedown but Greene shows good takedown defense.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Greene lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mcfarland backs up against the cage.
Mcfarland could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Greene feints a jab promting Mcfarland to slip. Greene then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mcfarland slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Greene throws a series of strikes that have Mcfarland backpedaling.
Mcfarland shoots in looking for a takedown. Greene tries to sprawl out of it but Mcfarland keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Greene manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Greene rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcfarland moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Greene enables Mcfarland to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Greene manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Greene is looking to stand back up but Mcfarland counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Greene.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greene is looking to improve his position.
Greene really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcfarland. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Greene makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Greene.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Greene has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcfarland has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mcfarland looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Greene is fending him off so far but Mcfarland persists. Nope, Greene circles away and we're back to standing.

Mcfarland looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Greene wants to control the action here but instead Mcfarland manages to pass to full mount!

Greene manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mcfarland on his heels. He'll look to pass Mcfarland's guard now, I'm sure.
Mcfarland is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

It looks like Mose Mcfarland has been cut.
Solomon Greene seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcfarland shoots for a takedown but Greene saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fighters circle momentarily. Greene darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mcfarland gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Mcfarland tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Greene is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Mcfarland buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Mcfarland!! Mcfarland is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Greene throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
