The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aldo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Aldo lands a big head kick that sends Meadows tumbling to the mat! Aldo takes a step backwards and waves Meadows back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Nelson Meadows has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Aldo leaves Meadows with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Meadows. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

and Meadows counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Meadows.
Aldo is pressed up against the cage. Meadows has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aldo down to the mat. Aldo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Aldo swings for the body but Meadows moves out of range.

and Meadows counters with a nice uppercut.

Aldo fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Meadows chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Aldo can pounce on him.
Aldo lands with a nice body kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Aldo, right into the meat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aldo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Look low, kick high! Aldo uses the oldest trick in the book to send Meadows tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Aldo is absolutely delighted - when Meadows wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
