Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between DeMarcus Njokuani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tedja Ranu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ranu has chosen Marabahaya - Saint Loco ft. Project E.A.R as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DeMarcus Njokuani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Tedja Ranu!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ranu dives in and grabs Njokuani's left leg, looking for a takedown. Njokuani pushes down on Ranu's head and hops out.
Njokuani looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Ranu has closed the distance and engaged Njokuani in a clinch.
Ranu fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Ranu scores with a knee to the head.
Njokuani throws an elbow that misses.
Njokuani definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Njokuani tries to work over Ranu's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Ranu on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Ranu.
Njokuani throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Ranu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ranu closes the distance and clinches.
Njokuani tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Njokuani can't find room to land a body shot as Ranu controls the action.
Njokuani misses with a knee to the head.
Ranu lands with a short punch from the clinch.

A nice right hand lands inside from Ranu.

Njokuani is rocked!
Njokuani looking to throw knees to the head but Ranu is blocking nicely.
Oh Njokuani is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ranu takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Njokuani takes a knee right on the jaw!
Ranu lands a good knee to the midsection. Njokuani won't want to take too many of those.

Ranu successfully pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ranu is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Njokuani presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Ranu gets control of Njokuani's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ranu will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Ranu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ranu is looking to stand up but Njokuani isn't so interested in that idea.
Ranu wants to sweep here but Njokuani controlling him for the moment.

Ranu has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Njokuani is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Ranu prevents a body shot from Njokuani.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ranu has his foot on Njokuani's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Njokuani works his way back into a safe position though.
Ranu lands a decent punch to the body there.
Ranu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Ranu is looking to stand up but Njokuani isn't so interested in that idea.

Ranu kicks Njokuani off and gets to his feet.
Ranu lands a nice looking kick to the body. Njokuani takes a step back to recover.

Ranu manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Ranu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ranu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Njokuani is trying to control Ranu's posture but Ranu avoids it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Ranu! Njokuani is hurt baaadly! Ranu is firing away with more strikes - Njokuani is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tedja Ranu!
