Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faria comes to the cage accompanied by Stevie B - Spring Love. Ramirez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Menina te amo tanto. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Faria!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Ramirez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ramirez is defended easily by Faria.
Ramirez avoids the head kick by Faria.

Ramirez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Ramirez seems to be working for a kimura but Faria defends the submission attempt.

Ramirez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Faria is just riding it out for now. Ramirez eventually gives up the hold.

Faria knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ramirez on the ground.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Faria would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ramirez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Faria is aware though and is defending well.

Ramirez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Faria gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Faria got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ramirez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Faria has managed to get both his arms back between Ramirez's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Faria tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Faria throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ramirez moves in looking to clinch but Faria pushes him off.
A combination from Faria does no damage.
Left hook, right uppercut from Faria.

Faria fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ramirez, pushing him back against the cage.

Ramirez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ramirez goes for a double leg but Faria avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Faria continues to drive forward.
Ramirez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Faria fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Faria throws a right and a left that Ramirez avoids nicely.
Ramirez fails with a takedown attempt.
Lucas Faria has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Ramirez.
Faria misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Faria drops Ramirez with a beautiful combination! Ramirez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Faria is looking for the KO!


Ramirez is rocked!


It looks like Juan Ramirez has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Faria pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ramirez is still on wobbly legs! Can Faria finish him?
Faria lands a head kick. Ramirez smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Faria throws a right and a left that Ramirez avoids nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ramirez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ramirez lands in his opponent's guard.

Ramirez drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ramirez seems to have locked his on tight now - Faria screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ramirez, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Juan Ramirez!
