Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin lands with a straight right. Jackson didn't see that one coming.
Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Martin lands a right hook to the body.
Nice cross by Martin .
Martin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nice uppercut there from Martin .
Martin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Jackson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Martin tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Martin backs up against the cage.
Jackson tries to bum rush Martin with a series of wild strikes but Martin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Martin blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson takes one on the button.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Martin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jackson misses with a takedown

and Martin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dean Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Jackson.
Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Martin is stalling in the full guard.
Jackson can't keep his opponent in guard - Martin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Martin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackson's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin works his way into full mount!

Jackson regains half guard.
Jackson tries to kick Martin off but Martin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Martin passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin looking to control but Jackson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Martin lands a couple of good shots and Jackson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Martin lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Jackson hold on?!
Jackson is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Will Martin go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Martin has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Jackson.
Martin misses with punches from the back.
Martin punishes Jackson with strikes from the back mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
What can Jackson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Will Martin go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Martin punches the canvas rather than the man.
Jackson looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Jackson is keeping busy.
Martin is really struggling to control Jackson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jackson manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Jackson.
Martin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin misses the jab.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Martin circles away easily

and Martin counters with a single leg into guard. Jackson didn't expect that.
Martin stops Jackson from standing up.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully.
Martin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Martin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Martin wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Martin postures up.

Martin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Martin is working hard here to advance position.
Dean Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Martin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Martin wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Martin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Martin wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Martin pinned against the cage. Martin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Martin misses with a wild body shot.
Dean Martin is winning the standup battle so far.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Martin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jackson on the side of the head.

Martin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martin lands a jab to Jackson's midsection.
Martin fails to land with a series of punches.

Jackson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Martin just misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Martin .
Dean Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Martin connects with a looping right hand.
Martin lands a jab.


It looks like Shawn Jackson has been cut.
Jackson misses with the combination.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson misses with a wild combination.
Jackson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Martin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Martin is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Jackson is hurt! He's hurt bad - Martin fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Jackson from any more punishment! Congratulations to Martin ! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dean Martin !
A relieved looking Dean Martin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
