The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimsson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Short moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Grimsson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Grimsson dives in for a single leg takedown but Short sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Grimsson tries to land a knee to the head but Short blocks with his arms.
Grimsson wants to stall.
The referee calls for Short to work.
Grimsson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Short smiles and moves away.
Short throws a body shot but no joy.
Short looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Grimsson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Short has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Grimsson regains guard immediately.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Short has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Grimsson is trying to keep an underhook but Short manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Short has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Short tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grimsson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Short somewhat.

Short shoots in looking for a takedown. Grimsson tries to sprawl out of it but Short keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grimsson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
