Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Van Dijk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reginald Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Dijk looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Dempsey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dempsey misses with the combination.
Good standup being displayed there by Dempsey as he connects with a hook.
Dempsey dips to his left and cracks Van Dijk with an uppercut!
Van Dijk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Dempsey counters with a crisp one two that drops Van Dijk! Dempsey thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Van Dijk to his feet! Van Dijk is in big trouble!

Van Dijk is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dempsey scores with a decent looking hook.
Oh Van Dijk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dempsey comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Dempsey drops Van Dijk with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Van Dijk looks back up at him and smiles so Dempsey waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Nick Van Dijk has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Van Dijk steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dempsey.
Dempsey smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Van Dijk misses with a takedown
and Dempsey counters with a big right hand! Oh Van Dijk is in trouble here! Dempsey follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reginald Dempsey!
