Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alec Hampton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and San Mandzusk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alec Hampton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, San Mandzusk!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hampton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mandzusk, pushing him back against the cage.
The referee calls for Hampton to work.
Hampton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Hampton jumps guard but Mandzusk stands there with Hampton around his waist. Hampton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mandzusk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Hampton regains guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hampton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Mandzusk is looking to work some ground and pound but Hampton has wrist control.
Hampton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like Alec Hampton has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Mandzusk is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hampton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hampton has escaped and now he's on top!
Hampton is looking to work some ground and pound but Mandzusk has wrist control.

Mandzusk has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Mandzusk is working an open guard so Hampton takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Mandzusk gets a double leg takedown into Hampton's guard.

Mandzusk drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hampton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mandzusk has Hampton in his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hampton wants to get up but he can't break Mandzusk's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Mandzusk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hampton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hampton trying to control the position from guard on top but Mandzusk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mandzusk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mandzusk can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mandzusk has his hands on Hampton's head, controlling the position.

Alec Hampton has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hampton doesn't manage to clinch there - Mandzusk circles away.

Mandzusk drives through with a takedown into Hampton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Hampton feints and as Mandzusk raises his hands in defense, Hampton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mandzusk seems keen to control Hampton's posture.

Hampton drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mandzusk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mandzusk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mandzusk!

Mandzusk goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hampton has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mandzusk but great work by Hampton.

Hampton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mandzusk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Mandzusk is looking for a sweep.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hampton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mandzusk is trying to improve his position.
Mandzusk trying his best to control but Hampton has mounted him.

Hampton is looking to stand but Hampton has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Mandzusk is trying to escape the mount.

Mandzusk is squirming around, avoiding Hampton's attempts to control the action.

Mandzusk is looking to improve his position but Hampton isn't that keen on the idea.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alec Hampton will probably get the nod.

That's time! Hampton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Mandzusk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hampton would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alec Hampton just wasn't active enough.

Mandzusk shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Mandzusk thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hampton's head.

Mandzusk has Hampton pulled in close to control his posture.
Mandzusk's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

San Mandzusk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mandzusk has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
