Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Meadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony KIeras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nelson Meadows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony KIeras!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meadows connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between KIeras's hands.
Meadows really is a fat lump.
Nice takedown defense from Meadows. No joy for KIeras on that attempt.
KIeras shoots in and drives through. Meadows sprawls well.
Meadows throws a sloppy head kick and KIeras moves out of range easily.

Meadows clinches.
Meadows tries to pull guard but KIeras holds him up against the cage and eventually Meadows drops back down to his feet.

Meadows manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Meadows lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

KIeras is taking a breather. Meadows says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

KIeras is trying to work for a kimura but Meadows is defending well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
KIeras is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that KIeras has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Tony KIeras has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
KIeras fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nelson Meadows has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony KIeras.
Meadows lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as KIeras backs up against the cage.

That was a close round but I would say that Nelson Meadows will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


KIeras shoots in looking for a takedown. Meadows tries to sprawl out of it but KIeras keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Meadows manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

KIeras closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Meadows's guard.
KIeras slips nicely into half guard.

Meadows can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as KIeras controls the pace.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tony KIeras hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
KIeras slaps away a takedown attempt from Meadows, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Meadows is trying to pull guard but KIeras has him pressed against the cage.

Meadows tries to close the distance and clinch but KIeras swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from KIeras. No joy for Meadows on that attempt.
Meadows shoots in for a double leg but KIeras sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

KIeras dives in and scores a takedown into Meadows's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

KIeras's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've been informed that KIeras has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
KIeras pushes down on Meadows's leg and manages to get into half guard.
KIeras passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Meadows!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

KIeras is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Meadows to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Meadows shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony KIeras showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Meadows changes levels and goes for a takedown here. KIeras fights it off and pushes away nicely.

KIeras has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Meadows can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
