Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Buff Dickens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dickens's entrance music is Trick Daddy - Shut Up. A fine choice. David has chosen Bring The Pain as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buff Dickens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 25 - 2, fighting out of London, Xavier David!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickens sizes up David with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Dickens takes a swing at David's ribcage but misses.
Dickens shoots for a double leg takedown but David sprawls well. He's pushed Dickens's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Xavier David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dickens fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with David, pushing him back against the cage.

Dickens breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
David shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dickens pinned against the cage. Dickens gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
David has his takedown stuffed

and Dickens decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in David's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Dickens thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dickens landing with the ground and pound.

Dickens got a little sloppy there for a moment and David has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dickens has managed to get both his arms back between David's legs - danger averted.
Dickens lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Dickens throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dickens wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

David is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dickens thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dickens is working David over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
David utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Dickens has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

David escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dickens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dickens wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.
Dickens working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of David's head.
Dickens landing with the ground and pound.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

David has momentary wrist control but Dickens slips an elbow through the middle.

Dickens stands up over David, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Dickens cracks David with a solid left hand.
Dickens sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Dickens trying to control but David is working from the bottom.
Dickens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. David swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dickens postures up in David's guard and throws a big left but David blocks it.
Dickens is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
David looking to control.
Dickens is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

David isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dickens stacks David on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dickens!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dickens thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dickens has hold of David's arm. He's looking for a kimura. David seems comfortable defending it but Dickens has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! David is real pain and he's forced to tap out! David is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Dickens couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Buff Dickens!
