The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nemesis scores with a body shot.
Thompson's coach down at Valhalla:NY GYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Thompson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Thompson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nemesis defends it nicely.
Thompson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Nemesis counters with a low kick, right behind Thompson 's knee.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Thompson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nemesis.
Jonny Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Nemesis.
Thompson looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nemesis lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Jonny Thompson has been cut.
We've been told by Nemesis's head coaches at Hell's Kitchen Hellions that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nemesis feints and then cracks Thompson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Thompson down.
Thompson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nemesis bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Nice shot lands for Nemesis.
Nemesis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nemesis with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Nemesis lands a big head kick that sends Thompson tumbling to the mat! Nemesis takes a step backwards and waves Thompson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Thompson is rocked!
Nemesis throws an uppercut from hell that sends Thompson clean off his feet! He's out cold! Nemesis stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

After winning the bout, The Nemesis thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
