Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio El Toro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Zertiis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Darius Henderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zertiis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as El Toro sprawls well. El Toro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zertiis gets slowly back to his feet.
El Toro connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Zertiis momentarily.
Zertiis gets cracked with a nice right hand there by El Toro.

Zertiis tries to sprawl but El Toro drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
El Toro not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Zertiis wants to get back to full guard.
El Toro tries to pass the half guard into mount. Zertiis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zertiis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. El Toro is working away from the top position though.
Zertiis is trying to get back to full guard.
Zertiis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
El Toro throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
El Toro thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zertiis's head.
Zertiis is trying to control but can't.

Zertiis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of El Toro's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take El Toro's back!

El Toro wants to control from the top but Zertiis keeps moving.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

El Toro throws an elbow that misses. Zertiis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in El Toro's guard. Nice move by Zertiis!

El Toro has his foot on Zertiis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Zertiis works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zertiis postures up in El Toro's guard and throws a big left but El Toro blocks it.

Zertiis tries to score a power double leg takedown but El Toro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zertiis somewhat.

Desmond Zertiis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Zertiis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zertiis wants it to stay on the feet.

Zertiis tries to bum rush El Toro with a series of wild strikes but El Toro uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zertiis is still on wobbly legs! Can El Toro finish him?
El Toro closes the distance and clinches up with Zertiis, looking for a takedown. El Toro pushes Zertiis against the cage but Zertiis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Zertiis seems to have recovered his senses.

El Toro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Zertiis throws a leg kick but El Toro sees it coming and moves out of range.
Zertiis is looking to clinch but El Toro is avoiding it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from El Toro, right into the meat.
El Toro throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Zertiis sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Zertiis throws a jab but it's blocked by El Toro.
Zertiis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
El Toro cracks Zertiis with an open hand slap.
Zertiis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but El Toro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

El Toro throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Zertiis tumbling to the canvas!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as El Toro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

El Toro postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Zertiis's head off the mat! Zertiis is out! He's out! El Toro jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!

After winning the bout, Julio El Toro thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
