The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carpenter sprawls well. Carpenter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Langt gets slowly back to his feet.
Langt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carpenter avoids it really well and circles away.
Langt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Langt clinches up with Carpenter and pushes him back against the cage.

Carpenter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Carpenter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Langt is just riding it out for now. Carpenter eventually gives up the hold.

Langt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Carpenter slips a jab and a cross from Langt.
Langt tries a head kick but it misses.
Langt throws a front kick aimed at Carpenter's knee but Carpenter avoids it well.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Modesto Carpenter.
