Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wally Hoover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anar Agaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wally Hoover has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wally Hoover!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anar Agaev!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoover misses the shot to the body.

Agaev gets a double leg takedown into Hoover's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Agaev trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hoover being controlled here, momentarily.
Agaev wants to pass the guard but Hoover is keeping the position.
Hoover avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hoover will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Agaev trying to control but Hoover is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Anar Agaev.
Hoover misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Agaev shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Agaev showed some decent athleticism there.
Agaev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoover keeps working.

Hoover is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Agaev is controlling him.

Agaev wants to control from the top but Hoover keeps moving.
Agaev has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hoover is proving hard to escape from.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Anar Agaev wasn't active enough on the ground.

Hoover gets caught napping as Agaev dives in and scores a takedown. Hoover manages to retain guard.

Hoover has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Agaev is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hoover.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Agaev happy to just control the position for now.

Hoover wants to get back to his feet but Agaev drags him back down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Agaev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Agaev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hoover is trying to buck Agaev off.

Hoover can't do much from the bottom here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Agaev shoots in and bounces Hoover off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Agaev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hoover tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Agaev trying to control but Hoover is working from the bottom.
Agaev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoover swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Agaev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoover has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Agaev has managed to get both his arms back between Hoover's legs - danger averted.

Hoover is working an open guard so Agaev takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Agaev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Agaev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Agaev swings around for an armbar but Hoover sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Agaev's guard.

Agaev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hoover is aware though and is defending well.
Hoover wants to stand but Agaev has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Hoover postures up.
Agaev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hoover really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hoover is looking to stand up but Agaev won't let him.
Hoover landing some decent shots from guard.
Hoover wanted to stand there but Agaev had control of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Agaev lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Hoover is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Agaev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Agaev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Agaev tries to free his leg and advance position but Hoover is retaining full guard.
Hoover wants to stand and escape but Agaev is having none of it.
Agaev looking to sit in guard and control but Hoover gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hoover would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Agaev not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Agaev is controlling Hoover's posture.

Agaev is pulling down on Hoover's head to control his posture.
Agaev is breathing heavily.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Anar Agaev wasn't active enough on the ground.

Agaev clinches up with Hoover and pushes him back against the cage.
Agaev looking to throw knees to the head but Hoover is blocking nicely.
Agaev is looking to control Hoover's arms but Hoover gets an underhook and turns him. Now Agaev has his back to the cage.
Hoover fails to pull guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Agaev is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Hoover is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Anar Agaev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hoover tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Agaev throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hoover was covering up waiting for the punch and Agaev finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Agaev wanted to stand there but Hoover had control of the position.
Agaev wants to control from the top but Hoover keeps moving.
Agaev postures up in Hoover's guard and throws a big left but Hoover blocks it.

Agaev ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Agaev darts in and clinches Hoover up against the cage.
Hoover is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Agaev gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Agaev successfully pulls guard.
Anar Agaev has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hoover is looking to work some ground and pound but Agaev has wrist control.
Agaev trying to keep a closed guard but Hoover is proving a slippery customer.
Agaev striking off his back but it's not causing Hoover any problems.

Hoover is fighting to break Agaev's control of his arms but Agaev is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hoover postures up.

Anar Agaev has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Agaev closes the distance and pushes Hoover back into the cage.
Agaev wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hoover tries to pull guard but Agaev forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hoover has Agaev pressed against the cage, preventing Agaev from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Hoover is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Agaev to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wally Hoover. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hoover drags the fight down to the ground.

Agaev gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Agaev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hoover misses with a wild combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hoover's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Agaev connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hoover scrambles back to his feet.

Agaev fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hoover, pushing him back against the cage.

Agaev gets control of Hoover's arms and successfully pulls guard. Agaev will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Agaev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hoover is trying to stand.
Hoover regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Agaev.
Agaev slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hoover wants to sweep here but Agaev controlling him for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Anar Agaev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Agaev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
