Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrel Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Craine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darrel Hopper has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darrel Hopper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Oliver Craine!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Craine closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hopper to the mat! Hopper manages to get full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Craine wants to control from the top but Hopper keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hopper has a closed guard, preventing Craine from standing up.
Craine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Oliver Craine has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Craine fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hopper to the ground. Craine is now in Hopper's guard.

Craine gets to his feet - Hopper follows without any prompting.
Craine tries a head kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hopper shoots in and bounces Craine off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hopper throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Craine looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Craine is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hopper is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hopper throws a strike but Craine rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Craine wants to control from the top but Hopper keeps moving.
Hopper wants to improve his position but instead Craine has moved into half guard.

Hopper slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Hopper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Craine wants to control from the top but Hopper keeps moving.
Craine trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hopper's guard.
Craine passes Hopper's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Hopper is staying active underneath Craine, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hopper is trying to maintain the position but Craine is very close to passing his half guard.
Craine not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Craine wants to pass the guard but Hopper is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Craine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hopper's guard.
Hopper is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Craine looking to sit in guard and control but Hopper gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hopper is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Craine is adopting a defensive guard.
Hopper is looking to work some ground and pound but Craine has wrist control.
Craine looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Craine is trying to control the position but Hopper postures up.
Hopper throws an elbow that misses. Craine uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hopper's guard. Nice move by Craine!

Craine wants to stand but Hopper has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Hopper has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Craine is working away from the top position though.

Hopper missing with punches from the bottom.
Craine is trying to control the action in half guard but Hopper is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Well, if Craine is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Oliver Craine was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Craine closes the distance and clinches.

Craine manages to pull guard.
Hopper is looking to work some ground and pound but Craine has wrist control.

Craine trying to control the position.
Hopper in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Craine pushes Hopper off and gets back to his feet.
Craine tries to clinch there but Hopper circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Oliver Craine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Hopper on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Craine. Craine obviously looking to wear him down.

Craine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hopper wants to get back to full guard.

Craine looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hopper is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopper tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Craine is looking to take a break and control but Hopper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hopper misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hopper is not content to let Craine control the position.
Craine working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Hopper's thigh. Hopper counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Hopper wants to sweep here but Craine controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hopper looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Craine puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Craine is looking to stall here but Hopper recovers full guard.
Hopper keeping full guard, as Craine tries to pass.
Hopper has Craine pulled in close to control his posture.
Craine trying to control but Hopper is working from the bottom.

Craine stopping the sweep attempt from Hopper.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Craine trying to control the position from guard on top but Hopper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hopper gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Craine to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Hopper is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Craine looking to pass the guard.
Craine trying to control the position from guard on top but Hopper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Craine seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Oliver Craine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Craine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
