PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes to the cage accompanied by UFC - Face the Pain. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Carson!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carson scores with a jab.
Carson throws a sloppy head kick and Velasquez moves out of range easily.
Velasquez shoots in for a takedown but Carson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've been informed that Carson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Carson enables Velasquez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Carson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Velasquez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
