Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Panikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tarik Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Panikov comes to the cage accompanied by Fighters. The key to victory for Sergey Panikov has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergey Panikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tarik Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panikov scores with a jab. Johnson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Johnson darts in looking for a takedown but Panikov gets double underhooks and turns Johnson into the cage.
Johnson takes a shot to the head.
Panikov is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Johnson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Johnson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Panikov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Panikov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Panikov defends well.
Panikov with a flurry of punches that miss.
Panikov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Johnson's head.
Panikov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Panikov wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Panikov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Johnson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Panikov defends it easily.
Panikov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Johnson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Panikov frees his head nicely. Oh but Johnson has switched to an armbar! Panikov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
