The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tys dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Tys wants to clinch up but Fakiiri keeps it at a distance.

Tys lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Fakiiri sprawling to the canvas. Tys follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Fakiiri hang on?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tys stands up out of the half guard.
Oh Fakiiri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fakiiri throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tys.
Fakiiri seems to have got his legs back now.

Fakiiri throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
A slapping body kick lands there for Fakiiri.
Tys will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tys fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jay Tys seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tys throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fakiiri drives through and clinches with Tys against the cage.
Fakiiri tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tys smiles and moves away.
Fakiiri throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Tys just misses with a punch to the body.
Tys throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fakiiri.

Fakiiri moves in looking to clinch but Tys pushes him off.
Fakiiri throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Fakiiri slips under a jab.
Sloppy strikes from Tys. Those never looked like landing.
Fakiiri throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Tys moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Fakiiri goes down! Can Tys finish him!?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fakiiri wants to sweep but no luck.

Fakiiri trying to keep a closed guard but Tys is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nakki Fakiiri.

Nice combo by Tys! Oh, that's hurt him - Fakiiri falls to the canvas and Tys follows him into side control.

Tys swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Tys has cracked Fakiiri with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Tys lands another huge swinging hook and Fakiiri tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Fakiiri, before Tys can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jay Tys!
