Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Terry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Quadros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into the arena with The Mercenary blaring out of the sound system. Quadros has chosen Pride Theme as his entrance music. Stephen Quadros has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves out of range of the leg kick from Quadros.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Quadros takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Quadros slips under a jab.
Quadros will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nice defenses there by Quadros.
Quadros buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Quadros tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Quadros moves away and avoids it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Quadros.

Quadros clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the cage.
Quadros has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Smith wants to break free but Quadros has control.
Smith tries to circle away but Quadros has him pinned against the cage.

I was talking to Smith's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Quadros escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Quadros looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Quadros takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Smith slips a jab and a cross from Quadros.
Quadros misses with a low kick as Smith jumps back.
Quadros has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Smith throws a series of punches but Quadros moves out of range.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Quadros moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Quadros, as that shot connected.

It looks like Terry Smith has been cut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Quadros.
Smith tries to bum rush Quadros with a series of wild strikes but Quadros uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Quadros tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Quadros dodges the punch combination from Smith.
A punch lands to the side of Quadros 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Smith throws a combination. Quadros tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Quadros feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.
Smith lands a head kick. Quadros smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Smith misses with an uppercut. Quadros saw that one coming.
Quadros throws a shot to the body.

Quadros closes the distance and pushes Smith back into the cage.
Quadros lands a right hand.

Quadros manages to break the clinch.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Quadros swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Quadros cracks the inside of Smith's front leg.
Quadros throws a low kick, looking for Smith's leg but Smith calmly moves out of range.
Quadros misses with a series of wild punches.
Smith throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Quadros slips under a jab.
Quadros thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Terry Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quadros throws a push kick but Smith slaps the foot to one side.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smith misses with a leg kick.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Quadros.
Smith scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Quadros lands a nice looking body shot.

Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Smith is rocked!
Smith glances at the clock... BAM! Quadros nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Smith crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Smith is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
