PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlton Oneill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tino Ablatino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlton Oneill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tino Ablatino!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ablatino closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oneill did well to prevent Ablatino getting side control.
Oneill throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Oneill is trying to stand back up but Ablatino is controlling him
Oneill might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ablatino thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Oneill's head.
Ablatino is pressing down on Oneill's thigh, looking to free his foot. Oneill is holding on for now.
Ablatino working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Oneill's thigh. Oneill counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Ablatino stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oneill swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oneill lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Oneill wanted to stand there but Ablatino had control of the position.

Ablatino throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oneill was covering up waiting for the punch and Ablatino finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Oneill is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ablatino can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Oneill moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ablatino has worked his arm free - good work by Ablatino!

Oneill swings around for an armbar but Ablatino sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Oneill's guard.

Oneill can't keep his opponent in guard - Ablatino advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ablatino is just content to waste time from the top position. Oneill takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Oneill looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Tino Ablatino showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Oneill is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Oneill drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ablatino manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Oneill has Ablatino in his guard.

Well Ablatino has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
