Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martez Cortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bones Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martez Cortega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bones Jones!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A combination from Cortega does no damage.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cortega takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Cortega misses with a series of wild punches.
Cortega misses with a few strikes there.
Cortega takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Cortega tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Cortega shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cortega was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jones is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Cortega has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Cortega throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cortega walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Cortega changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Cortega manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cortega throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jones scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nice straight punches there by Jones. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jones.
Cortega swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cortega misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Cortega to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Cortega is breathing heavily.
Jones wants to stand but Cortega is controlling the position.
Cortega missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cortega is controlling him.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Cortega looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well.

Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Cortega is just out of range.
A clash of legs there as Cortega blocks the low kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Jones as he connects with a hook.

Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cortega throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Cortega throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cortega looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well.
Bones Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cortega takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
A jab from Jones finds it's way through Cortega's defenses.
Cortega tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cortega misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bones Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jones throws a combination. Cortega tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Cortega is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Cortega is rocked!
Jones lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Cortega falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
