Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ulquiorra Schiffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ulquiorra Schiffer!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Schiffer.
Schiffer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Schiffer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Silva throws a hook to the side of Schiffer's head but Schiffer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Schiffer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Schiffer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Schiffer stands up and beckons Silva to his feet.
Silva misses with a straight right.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Silva misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Schiffer.

Schiffer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Schiffer tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schiffer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

It looks like Schiffer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ulquiorra Schiffer was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Schiffer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schiffer to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Schiffer wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position.

Silva is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Schiffer has his hands clasped together but Silva extends and breaks Schiffer's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Silva.
