Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kaji Maruo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafa Mandenhi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maruo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Avril Lavigne - Hello Kitty. The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maruo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Maruo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Maruo keeping full guard, as Mandenhi tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maruo is wriggling around but Mandenhi manages to pass to half guard.
Mandenhi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maruo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mandenhi.
Mandenhi wants to control but Maruo is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maruo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mandenhi has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Maruo defend it? Mandenhi steps over the head and cranks it - Maruo is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mandenhi!
