Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Farley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Ragno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mauricio Farley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Ragno!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ragno gets a clinch.
Farley misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ragno.

Ragno lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ragno throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ragno is working for a submission of some sort.
Ragno wants to stand up but Farley has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Ragno thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Farley's head.
Farley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Farley is not content to let Ragno control the position.
Ragno wants to pass to mount but Farley is defending the position.
Ragno is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Farley moves into full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Michael Ragno hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ragno decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ragno wants to control but Farley is keeping him busy.

Ragno is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Farley is defending against the submission attempts here by Ragno.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ragno stalling away here and it's allowed Farley to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Ragno must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ragno decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ragno is keen to just control but Farley is a slippery customer.

Ragno wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Farley, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Farley's face as Ragno controls the position.

Farley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Farley gets caught napping as Ragno dives in and scores a takedown. Farley manages to retain guard.

Farley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ragno gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ragno not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Farley shoots in and bounces Ragno off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Ragno throws his legs up looking for a submission but Farley uses it to pass to side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Michael Ragno showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Farley has his foot on Ragno's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ragno works his way back into a safe position though.

Farley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Michael Ragno.

Farley tries to keep at a distance but Ragno has taken the fight into the clinch.

Farley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ragno scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Farley is staying active underneath Ragno, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Farley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ragno as he jumps to the side.

Ragno drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ragno postures up in Farley's guard and throws a big left but Farley blocks it.

Farley is trying to stand up here but Ragno is controlling him well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ragno stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Farley to get to his feet.

Farley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ragno feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Michael Ragno is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ragno has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Farley is proving hard to escape from.

Well Ragno has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
