PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Clawnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lincoln Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clawnes comes into the arena with My name is MUD blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hawk's choice of entrance music: Winner Takes it All. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Clawnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lincoln Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clawnes moves out of range of the strikes.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hawk has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Hawk swats away the attempt to clinch by Clawnes.
Clawnes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hawk moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Clawnes just misses with a elbow thrown towards Hawk's brow.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hawk takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Clawnes tries to close the distance and clinch but Hawk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've been hearing good reports from Clawnes's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

I would just about give that final round to Lincoln Hawk.
