With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sean Moloney!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Petty with that takedown attempt.
Moloney takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Moloney tries a head kick but it misses.

Petty darts in and clinches Moloney up against the cage.
Moloney wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Moloney tries to circle away but Petty has him pinned against the cage.

Petty jumps guard.
Moloney wanted to stand there but Petty had control of the position.
Petty controls Moloney momentarily but Moloney frees himself.
Petty has control of Moloney's left arm, preventing Moloney from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Petty is on top in guard.

Petty gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Petty is looking to clinch but Moloney is avoiding it.
Petty shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moloney sprawls well. Moloney wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Petty gets slowly back to his feet.
Rayford Petty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moloney tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Petty was well out of range. Poor timing from Moloney.

Moloney avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Moloney rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Petty moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Petty tries to score a power double leg takedown but Moloney sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Petty somewhat.

Petty fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Moloney, pushing him back against the cage.
Petty tries to pull guard but Moloney holds him up against the cage and eventually Petty drops back down to his feet.

Moloney wants to get back to striking at distance but Petty won't allow it.

Petty ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Petty no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Petty lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Petty stands up from Moloney's guard - Petty perhaps looking for a knockout.
Moloney lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Moloney.
Petty shoots in for a double leg but Moloney sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Moloney swats away the attempt to clinch by Petty.

Petty shoots for a takedown but Moloney saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Moloney connects with a right hand. Petty shakes it off.
Moloney lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Petty circles away quickly and effectively.

Petty is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Moloney has managed to free his arm - good work.
Petty lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Petty winds up and cracks Moloney with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Petty decides to stand and escape the position.
Petty shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moloney but Moloney pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Moloney counters with a nice low kick that buckles Petty's knee momentarily.

Moloney fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Petty has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Petty is working for a kimura but Moloney is defending it quite comfortably.
Rayford Petty overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Petty prevents Moloney from standing back up.

Moloney is defending against the submission attempts here by Petty.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Moloney is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Petty.

Petty jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moloney walks away with a smile on his face. Petty gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Moloney wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Petty has him pressed against the cage.
Moloney has had enough of the clinch but Petty keeps him there for the moment.

Moloney wants to slow Petty down by chopping away at his legs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Petty is defended easily by Moloney.
Petty shoots in looking for a takedown. Moloney tries to sprawl out of it but Petty keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moloney manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Petty tries to close the distance and clinch but Moloney swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Moloney will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
