Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Monkey Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahmud Pehlivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mahmud Pehlivan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mahmud Pehlivan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mann misses with a takedown attempt - Pehlivan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pehlivan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pehlivan.
A swing and a miss from Mann.
Pehlivan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pehlivan goes for a double leg but Mann avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mann continues to drive forward.
Mann is trying to drag Pehlivan to the mat but Pehlivan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Pehlivan is trying to force a seperation but Mann has the dominant position.
Mann drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Pehlivan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mann blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Pehlivan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mann.
Pehlivan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mann avoids it.

Mann breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Mann counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pehlivan is lucky that one didn't land flush.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Mann's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Pehlivan wanted to stand there but Mann had control of the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pehlivan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pehlivan lands a glancing blow to the side of Mann's head.
Mahmud Pehlivan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pehlivan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Mann counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Mann keeps control of Pehlivan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mann could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mann pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pehlivan misses with a few strikes there.
Pehlivan looks winded!
Mann fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pehlivan avoids it really well and circles away.
Mann avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pehlivan slaps away a takedown attempt from Mann, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pehlivan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mann slips a jab and a cross from Pehlivan.
Pehlivan doesn't manage to clinch there - Mann circles away.
Mann avoids a punch combination nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pehlivan. Mann does a little dance to reset his feet.
Monkey Mann is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pehlivan attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Pehlivan tries to keep at a distance but Mann has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mann escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mann rushes Pehlivan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mann goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pehlivan prevents it.
Mann wants to take the fight to the mat but Pehlivan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Pehlivan's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Mann jumps into guard, dragging Pehlivan to the mat.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pehlivan wants to control from the top but Mann keeps moving.

Mann might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mann has an active guard here but Pehlivan has managed to pass into half guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mann holds on and takes a little breather.
Pehlivan wants to control from the top but Mann keeps moving.
Mann utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mahmud Pehlivan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pehlivan stuffs the takedown.
Mann throws a jab when Pehlivan was well out of range.
Mann shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pehlivan but Pehlivan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That was a close second round but I would say that Monkey Mann will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I would just about give that final round to Mahmud Pehlivan.
