The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant closes the distance looking to clinch
and Stewart counters with a big head kick but Grant shrugs it off.

Grant changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stewart looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A lull in the action here.
Stewart regains half guard, as Grant was trying to land strikes.
Grant wants to take a breather but Stewart is having none of it.

Grant is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Grant is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stewart has managed to free his arm - good work.
Stewart is staying active underneath Grant, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Grant stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stewart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Grant.
Grant tries to close the distance and clinch but Stewart swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stewart.
Grant tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stewart manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Don Stewart is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Grant pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stewart back to the cage. Grant follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Grant shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stewart is trying to defend but Grant finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Grant slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Grant is working for a guillotine from mount but Stewart frees his head quite easily.
