PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ross Massey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franco Colombo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Franco Colombo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ross Massey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 40 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franco Colombo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Massey moves into the clinch.

Massey ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Massey no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Colombo looking to pass the guard.

Colombo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Massey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Massey has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Colombo is trying to keep Massey in close.
Colombo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Colombo wants to sweep but no luck.
Massey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Massey wants to get up but he can't break Colombo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ross Massey.
Colombo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Massey on the side of the head.

It looks like Ross Massey has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Colombo circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Massey to the canvas! Massey doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Colombo keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
