Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Godin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Diego Godin!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Godin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Godin showed some decent athleticism there.
My spies in M Jay's Training Center inform me that Godin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Godin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hawke does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We've been hearing good reports from Hawke's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hawke tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Godin is looking for a sweep.
Godin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hawke's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Godin wants to control but Hawke is keeping busy.

Hawke drops back looking for a leg! Godin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Godin manages to kick Hawke off! Hawke jumps back into Godin's guard.
Godin is pulling down on Hawke's head. It's preventing any offense from Hawke, at least for the moment.

Hawke wants to pass the guard but Godin is keeping the position.
Godin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Godin swings around for an armbar but Hawke sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Godin's guard.

Well Godin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
